Yorkshire’s season so far hasn’t delivered the optimism and success which had been present or forecast in the build-up to the campaigns in all formats, but as far as the future is concerned, the county continues to produce young cricketers of genuine potential and ability.
Batsmen Tom Kohler-Cadmore and Harry Brook, wicket-keeper bat Jonny Tattersall and seam bowlers Matthew Fisher and Ben Coad clearly possess the skills and ambition to enjoy decent careers, and joining them may well be 21-year-old Leeds all-rounder Jordan Thompson who has revealed promise in the Vitality Blast.
