The Yorkshire County Cricket Club would like to congratulate The Yorkshire Post after being crowned the Regional Newspaper of the Year at the ECB Domestic Journalism Awards.

This is the second successive year that The Yorkshire Post has been recognised in this category and the third time in six years. Further recognition was given with The Yorkshire Post also being highly commended in the Outstanding Domestic Coverage category, narrowly missing out to The Telegraph.

Commenting on The Yorkshire Post’s achievements, Yorkshire’s Head of MarComms and Customer Experience Treve Whitford said: “This national recognition is thoroughly deserved for the outstanding coverage that The Yorkshire Post gives cricket.

“As a Club, we recognise the importance of local media outlets delivering news about Yorkshire Cricket and we are very fortunate to receive fantastic coverage throughout the region.

“This award emphasises the vast amount of interest that there is in cricket in Yorkshire, and we are pleased to have such dedicated and talented individuals delivering that news.”
