The Nominees
Claudie Cooper
Claudie Cooper led the way with the ball for Yorkshire during August, claiming five wickets across the two matches.
The off-spinner produced the standout bowling performance against Warwickshire at Edgbaston, taking 4-55 from her 10 overs, including the wickets of Katie George, Brooke Halliday, Charis Pavely and Natasha Wraith. Cooper followed that with another economical spell against Surrey, returning 1-33 from nine overs, while also contributing 29 runs with the bat across the month.
Sterre Kalis
Sterre Kalis finished August as Yorkshire’s joint-leading run-scorer with 62 runs, highlighted by an excellent half-century against Warwickshire.
With Yorkshire under pressure in their chase at Edgbaston, Kalis anchored the innings with 52 from 71 balls, hitting six boundaries and helping her side recover from 51-4. She also contributed 10 against Surrey and took an excellent diving catch to dismiss Sophia Dunkley at Ampleforth.
Sarah Glenn
Sarah Glenn made valuable contributions with both bat and ball throughout Yorkshire’s two August fixtures.
Glenn scored 62 runs across the month, with innings of 30 against Warwickshire and 32 against Surrey, making her Yorkshire’s joint-leading run-scorer alongside Kalis. The England leg-spinner also claimed three wickets, including 2-69 at Edgbaston and the important wicket of Sune Luus against Surrey.
