The preceding few months in Pakistan’s international cricket calendar have been nothing short of a disaster.

The embarrassing losses in the Asia Cup in 2018, the disastrous loss in the home Test series against New Zealand and losses in series in all three formats of on the tour of South Africa have underlined one of the most disappointing recent phases of Pakistan’s cricket history.

Understandably, such results have also put enormous amounts of self-doubt in the minds of Pakistani fans and the team management, especially as they look forward to future assignments and in particular to ICC’s marquis World Cup event in the summer.

There is, however, a silver lining in the dark clouds of gloom for Pakistan. And that hope, comes in the shape of an exciting new teenage-talent by the name of Shaheen Shah Afridi.
