Yorkshire are pleased to confirm that Joe Root and Harry Brook will both be available for the blockbuster clash against Surrey at Headingley on 15 May.

This will be the final game of a three-match spell for Root, and a two-match run for Brook, as they continue their preparations ahead of the Test Match summer.

Root, England’s leading Test run-scorer of all time and one of the finest batters in the game, will be available for the Rothesay County Championship fixtures against Sussex, Somerset and Surrey.

England white-ball captain Brook will be available for the game against Warwickshire before the opening block of red-ball fixtures concludes against Surrey.

Yorkshire begin their Rothesay County Championship campaign later today against Glamorgan in Cardiff.
