England coach Trevor Bayliss has challenged county cricketers to send out a “come and pick me” statement in the early stages of the summer.

In assessing England’s horrible Test Match winter, coach Bayliss says a number of places are up for grabs ahead of home summer series against South Asian rivals Pakistan and India, starting in late May.

England have lost five of seven Test Matches this winter against Australia and New Zealand.

Earlier today, they could not complete the win in the second and final Test against the latter in Christchurch, losing that series 1-0 to add to the 4-0 reverse in Australia either side of Christmas.

Before the first of two Tests against Pakistan on May 24, Yorkshire, for example, have five Championship fixtures. Give or take a match, that will be the same for all counties.
