England made a losing start to their Tri-series T20 campaign in Australia this morning, and they now look to be in a two-way fight with New Zealand for a final berth.

England’s exhilarating bull in a china shop approach to batting against the white ball cost them the chance of beating the Aussies in Hobart.

After a blistering start – they were 60-1 after six overs and 109-3 in the 13th – they slipped badly, losing five wickets for 15 runs along the way to a disappointing 155-9.

David Willey made an excellent start with the ball in defence, removing David Warner and Chris Lynn in the first over, the latter bowled with a beauty of an in-swinger.
