On Saturday the Academy hosted the 2017 and 2018 Champions York on a red hot day at Weetwood.
The Academy captain James Wharton won the toss and elected to bat. The openers put on an opening stand of 49 from 73 balls before Bean was caught by Charlie Elliott. Wicket keeper Harry Duke fell shortly after with the score on 57. Arjun Ramkumar joined the captain and they put together a 65 run partnership from 74 balls before Ramkumar was dismissed for 30 with the total moving onto 122 for 3 in the 28th over. The middle order collapsed to leave the Academy on 140 for 7 in the 35th over.
Yorkshire Academy were bowled out for 183 with one ball remaining as Edward Booth finished on 23 not out.
The damage was done by Duncan Snell 3 for 35, Clarke Droughney 3 for 46 and Jack Charters 2 for 29.
In the reply York openers put on 37 before Batchelor fell. James Billington joined Duncan Snell and they put on a second wicket stand of 107 from 114 balls before Billington was out for 46. The visitors lost a third wicket before achieving victory and finished on 185 for 3 in 38.3 overs. Duncan Snell finished on an excellent 87 from 119 balls with 10 fours and 2 sixes.
Harry Harding 2 for 34 and Dominic Leech 1 for 23 were the wickets for Yorkshire Academy.
It was another disappointing result for the Yorkshire Academy and they don’t have a fixture next Saturday.
