The toss was won by visitors Sessay who invited the Academy to bat first at Weetwood.

Both openers were back in the pavilion with the scoreboard showing only 14. Matthew Revis and George Hill then put together an excellent partnership of 93 from 97 balls before Revis was dismissed for 31. Harry Duke joined Hill and they put on 96 from 126 balls for the fourth wicket before Duke was out for 40. Hill completed his century from only 87 balls before being dismissed for 122 (107 balls, 8 fours and 3 sixes). The Academy finished on 262 for 7 from the allocated 50 overs.
The main wicket taker for the visitors was Navin Kavikara with three for 47 from 10 overs.

Sessay were soon struggling at 24 for 3, before rain came and caused a lengthy stoppage. 20 overs had to be bowled to enable a result. Play was restarted with the DLS target now 199 from 30 overs. There was another short hold up with no additional overs lost. The match finished at 8.08pm with Sessay on 136 for 9 from 30 overs. The main contributions came from Joe Watson 41 and Nick Harrison 25 who put on 67 for the fourth wicket.

The wickets were shared by Dominic Leech 3 for 37 from 8 overs, Archie Greaves 2 for 21, Harrison Quarmby 1 for 23 and Harry Sullivan 1 for 16.
