Schools’ cricket in Yorkshire is thriving. That is the view from two national champions from within the county, Scarborough College and St Peter’s School, York. 

Last week, at Headingley, Sterre Kalis vice-captained the Netherlands in a 50-over friendly against her Northern Diamonds team-mates. She was expecting some playful on-field banter, which never really arrived. Well, it may just come this Wednesday instead.

The annual Adult Hundred competition in Leeds is making waves with 30 out of the scheduled 98 matches already completed. The tournament, run in partnership with Leeds Premier League and based on the original ECB Hundred format, features 14 teams, each competing against the others once.
