Local kit suppliers Orox Teamwear and Viking Cricket have teamed up with Yorkshire CCC to help provide kit, free of charge, to players who require additional support within Yorkshire’s Performance Pathway. The deal includes protective equipment, such as pads and gloves, for both boys and girls, which is all being made available at no cost to those in the programme who are in need of support. This has formed part of the club’s means-tested hardship grants, offered this year alongside the removal of fees for training and festivals for those who cannot afford it. The ambition is to help those who would otherwise have no or limited access to cricket equipment to receive high-quality equipment, on a par with any of their peers at a County Pathway standard, without the prohibitive cost.

James Martin, Yorkshire’s Head of Performance Pathway said: “It is no secret that cricket can be one of the most expensive sports to play, with the cost of kit and equipment often proving a additional challenge. It continues to be Yorkshire’s firm commitment that no child should be prevented from accessing our Player Pathway due to cost. This support from local businesses, Orox and Viking, allows us to support those most in need and adds another welcome method of ensuring complete accessibility to our Pathway. Their support is massively appreciated by all of our Pathway team. The collaborative work of local people and businesses, as well as clubs and communities, is the essence of what makes Yorkshire cricket so special. We are delighted the Yorkshire Family has once again come together to support Yorkshire’s players of the future!”

Jeff Wilson of Viking Cricket said:”We are now in our 9th year of supporting grassroots cricket, making quality bats, pads, gloves and all other cricket accessories. We like to offer quality and value to young players and watching them develop. We have been particularly successful in bespoke equipment to support the growth and development of the girls and ladies game. We are delighted to work with Orox and Yorkshire County Cricket Club to support the Yorkshire Regional Cricket and Pathway programme for 2025!”
We sincerely thank Orox Teamwear and Viking Cricket for their support of our Pathway programme and look forward to seeing the opportunities their support unlocks for the Club’s young players.
