Yorkshire ended this 4 match 50 over a side period with a 3-wicket win. SACA were asked to bat first and had added 51 before losing their first wicket; Jack White having Gunarathne caught at fine leg by Isaac Bepey for 22. Tangirala joined Khan and they added 70 in 91 balls before the former was caught at mid off by Ben Coad off Matthew Firbank – 121-2.

Khan had made 49 when he was well caught low at backward point by Owen Smith to give Rizwan Ishfaq a wicket and Ajay Khunti was bowled by Dan Moriarty and SACA were now 179-4 with 15 overs to go. Reddy hit 54 from 45 balls with 5 fours and 2 sixes and Sultan made 33 from 38 balls but wickets fell at regular intervals and they were dismissed for 254 in the final over – 2 wickets each for Bepey, Firbank and Akhtar.

Yash Vagadia was run out by a direct hit from short third man and Owen Smith made 25 from 30 balls before being bowled: 46-2 in the 9th over. Harry Duke and Fin Bean added 56 in 52 balls before Bean was caught in the deep having made 32 from 29 balls. Akhtar was bowled for 8 shortly before Duke completed his half century from 56 balls with 7 fours and he went on to make 84 from 80 before being bowled (12×4;1×6).

At this stage we were 184-6 needing 71 from 17 overs. Coad was joined by Moriarty and their experience told in a seventh wicket partnership of 68 in 62 balls that took us to the brink of victory. Moriarty made 37 from 36 with 6 fours before being bowled and Coad was unbeaten on 28 from 29 balls and it was White who hit the winning four.

Second Eleven action now takes a back seat until we travel to play Worcestershire at Kidderminster in our penultimate Championship fixture starting on 25th August.
