Durham won the toss and elected to bowl first – both sides showing changes from the first game at Harrogate last week which Yorkshire won.
Yash Vagadia and Owen Smith made 22 before Vagadia was bowled for 9 from 10 balls and shortly after Harry Duke was caught at mid off also for 9 but from 5 balls: 34-2. This soon became 36-3 when Smith was also caught at mid off for 13 from 10 balls.
Finlay Bean and Dom Bess took the total to 51 before Bess was given out caught at short third man. Bean made 18 from 23 balls and Jawad Akhtar 15 from 24 but there was a 10 over spell where no boundary was scored and it was Joe Thompson, 41 from 26 balls with 5 fours and a six who enabled us to post 134-9.
McKinney and Drissell added 32 from 22 balls before the former was caught by Keeper, Bean, off Isaac Bepey. Ben Coad then had Will Rhodes lbw for 4 and Durham were 37-2. Drissell and Symington added 36 in 26 balls but the latter was well stumped by Bean to give Dom Bess a wicket; 73-3. Drissell was well caught at deep mid-wicket by Harry Duke for 47 from 38 with 5 fours and a six and that was our last success as Durham passed our total with 2 overs to spare.
Next action is at York on Friday 3rd July – a 50 over per side game starting at 11 am against Mumbai Indians Academy.
