On a searingly hot afternoon, in front of a good sized crowd Yorkshire won the toss and elected to bowl first.

Harry Came and Bin Naeem added 48 in 24 balls for the first wicket before Rizwan Ishfaq struck, bowling Bin Naeem for 31 from 14 balls. Reece and Came then added 123 in only 61 balls before Brad Sylvester had Reece caught at long on by Owen Smith – he made 40 from 24 balls with 2 fours and 2 sixes.

Brooke Guest was the next victim of the previous combination – caught Smith bowled Sylvester – 171-3. Came had reached 50 from 29 balls with 5 fours and 2 sixes and he went on to complete his century from a further 21 balls – he was finally dismissed well caught at deep backward point by Joe Hayes off Ishfaq – Ishfaq finished with 4-54 as Derbyshire totalled 236-7.

Owen Smith was bowled for 4 and Yash Vagadia caught behind for 22 from 13, 38-2. Harry Duke and Will Bennison added 46 in 35 balls before Bennison was caught and bowled for 24 from 19. Duke reached 50 from 31 balls and had made 72 from 47 (5×4;3×6) when he was caught at long on. Jawad Akhtar was 24 not out from 12 balls but we closed on 182-5.
