Yorkshire Women’s Academy duo Amelia Love and Amelia Oliver have linked up with an England Under 19s Development squad for a training camp and matches against Scotland A later this month, with county coach Rich Pyrah praising their progression.
Sixteen-year-old seamer Love made an immediate impact in senior cricket, taking 4-39 on debut in the first match of 2025 as Yorkshire faced Worcestershire at Headingley in April.
She has gone on to take seven wickets in as many senior matches this season.
Top order batter Oliver, 17, has played three competitive matches for the White Rose this season, also impressing at either number three in the order or opening.
She made an unbeaten 39 off 32 balls on debut against Derbyshire in the Vitality Blast at Headingley at the start of June and has posted further scores of 19 and 23.
“They’re two exciting cricketers who work hard and deserve their chance,” said Yorkshire Women’s head coach Pyrah.
“Amelia Oliver has got a lot of runs, and we saw pretty early what Amelia Love can do in senior cricket this year with four wickets on debut.
“They’re both very good prospects.
“There’s a lot of work gone in, and we’ve got some really good youngsters there.
“This is good reward for what everyone’s done over the last couple of years to get two in there.”

Bolton Percy’s Love has had more senior exposure than Harrogate’s Oliver so far this season, and there is the likelihood for more for both players in the coming months.
Through August, for example, Yorkshire are already missing Sterre Kalis, Beth Langston, Rachel Slater and Lauren Winfield-Hill because of the Hundred.
It’s not impossible that the number could increase, with the Hundred wildcard draft to take place tomorrow morning. All counties will be watching on with interest.
“We’ve had to manage Amelia (Love) over the last couple of months given she’s been doing her GCSEs,” said Pyrah.
“She’s had a period where she hasn’t played, but hopefully she will be involved now for the rest of the summer.
“She will be with the 19s for the next couple of weeks in this Development camp and then will hopefully feature for us in the 50-over games towards the back end of the season.
“We’ve had a few times when we’ve asked about the availability of young players for training, and we’ve had a, ‘No, I’ve got exams’. It shows how young these players are.
“But it’s exciting. They’ve got through that now, and there’s a period of time where they can play a lot of cricket, whether that’s Academy or senior cricket.”
The Under 19s Development camp started yesterday and runs through until Thursday.
The 18-player squad will then tackle Scotland A in four matches across three days from July 22-25. They play a 40-over match at Shepshed Cricket Club and then a 50-over match and two T20s at Loughborough University.
