It's a Super Saturday...
Good morning from Headingley, where it’s another lovely, sunny morning but a bit chilly.
It’s a big day of cricket, with Yorkshire’s men and women in action on the same day for the second Saturday in the last three.
The men are involved in a nip and tuck Rothesay County Championship clash with Warwickshire at Headingley, one which heads into its second day today.
The women are bidding for their second victory in the first three rounds of the Metro Bank One-Day Cup. They take on Derbyshire at the County Ground.
The men get going again at 11am, the women at 10.30am. And we shall be keeping you up to date with both matches.
Warwickshire are 161-6 in reply to Yorkshire’s 205 all out, trailing by 44.
The danger would appear to be Australian Test all-rounder Beau Webster, who is at the crease unbeaten on 32. He played nicely last night. Though Yorkshire do have more than enough firepower in their attack to wrap this up quickly.
Fingers crossed that happens before they can get batting on a pitch which is expected to remain bowler-friendly all the way through the weekend.
Yorkshire’s women have arrived in the East Midlands having beaten Sussex at Hove last Saturday, by nine wickets chasing only 78. It’s the first of two clashes with Derbyshire this weekend. The counties meet again on Monday afternoon at Harrogate in the opening round of the Vitality County T20 Cup.
There are a series of X posts embedded above this blog post which link to last night’s report and reaction from Headingley and the preview for the Metro Bank game at Derbyshire.
