Live: Yorkshire Men v Warwickshire, Rothesay CC, Day Four

Yorkshire need nine wickets to claim their third Rothesay County Championship win of the season, with Warwickshire starting day four on 44-1 pursuing 453. Follow this page for live updates throughout the day.

MATCH DRAWN!

Yorkshire take 16 points to Warwickshire’s 12.

The visitors close on 333-8 thanks largely to half-centuries from Sam Hain and Ed Barnard.

Hassan even had Manav Suthar caught behind with five balls left.

Yorkshire made most of the running and move up to sixth in the table, 16 points behind leaders Essex.

Fabulous game of cricket, that.

Three overs left

Warwickshire are 328-7.

Manav Suthar has played quite the innings here. 37 off 36 balls. Shots galore!

Crunch time!

We have 10 overs remaining, and Warwickshire are 290-7.

Zen Malik and Manav Suthar are trying to resist the threat of Dom Bess and Matthew Revis.

Warwickshire 286-7, 97.3 overs

Ed Barnard has been caught behind off Matthew Revis, 58.

Manav Suthar in now alongside Zen Malik.

We have 13.3 overs remaining.

16 overs remaining

We have just started the last hour.

Yorkshire have their tails up after that wicket.

Warwickshire 276-6, with Ed Barnard 53 and Zen Malik 5.

Wicket! Sam Hain

Hain has been caught at short-leg off Dom Bess for a fine 69.

It’s 266-6 with a little more than 18 overs remaining. Zen Malik in alongside Ed Barnard.

Theatrics....

A light moment here as Hassan Ali, bowling to Sam Hain, follows through and changes the bails around Stuart Broad style for a change of luck. So Hain switches them back. And as he does, Jonny Bairstow runs to the wicket and changes them again.

Game edging away from Yorkshire

The draw is now looking the most likely result here. We have 25 overs remaining, and Warwickshire are 259-5.

Sam Hain has 66 and Ed Barnard 44.

George Hill into the attack now.

Warwickshire 242-5, 80th over

Early stages of the evening session and Dom Bess and Ben Cliff in operation for Yorkshire, who have 32 overs to work with.

New ball due in a minute or two.

Plenty of appeals in the last couple of overs.

Tea. Warwickshire 237-5, 76 overs

We have 35 overs remaining in the day, with Sam Hain and Ed Barnard resisting on on 63 and 28 respectively.

10 minutes to tea

Getting Sam Hain, who has 59, before the break would be the dream scenario here.

Warwickshire are 225-5 with a little under 38 overs remaining. Ed Barnard has 22.

Hain 50

Sam Hain has reached his fifty off 142 balls.

Warwickshire 212-5 in the 69th over.

Warwickshire 180-5, 58.5 overs

Beau Webster bowled Dom Bess, 49.

After cutting two boundaries earlier in the over, Webster plays back again but is bowled.

Key wicket and breaks a stand of 87 with Sam Hain, who has 39.

Ed Barnard in now.

Webster and Hain frustrating Yorkshire

Beau Webster has 36 and Sam Hain 23. They have shared 58 for the fifth wicket.

Jack White and George Hill are in operation.

Plenty of time to go for the White Rose, but Warwickshire will be confident given the quality these two batters possess and with the lack of pace in the pitch.

Warwickshire 151-4 in the 52nd over of 111 in total. Fifteen of those were bowled last night.

Lunch. Warwickshire 139-4, 45 overs

Productive morning for Yorkshire, with two wickets for George Hill and one for Hassan Ali.

But Warwickshire’s key pair are in and set; Sam Hain 20 and Beau Webster 27.

Lyth to bowl the lunch over

Adam Lyth, so often a golden arm during his career, will bowl the last over of the morning.

Warwickshire 139-4.

Warwickshire 121-4, 37th over

Sam Hain has 18 and Beau Webster 11.

Dom Bess and now Ben Cliff in operation for the White Rose.

Warwickshire 93-4, 31.3 overs

Hassan Ali has removed nightwatchman Ethan Bamber with the help of an excellent Jack White catch at long-leg.

Bamber went to pull and it looked like it was going for six. But it didn’t get have the likes and White, peddling backwards and tumbling, held on just inside the ropes.

Key partnership now for Warwickshire as Beau Webster and Sam Hain unite.

George Hill

Warwickshire 83-3, 27th over

Dom Bess is into the attack in place of George Hill.

Yorkshire 63-3, 21 overs

Dan Mousley caught Adam Lyth bowled George Hill, 12.

Having taken three boundaries off as many balls, he edges a drive to second slip.

Two in the over, and Yorkshire are on the charge.

Sam Hain in alongside Ethan Bamber.

Warwickshire 51-2, 20.1 overs

Alex Davies caught and bowled George Hill, 24.

Davies drills a drive back down the pitch and Hill takes the catch one-handed going to his right. Shaped to go two-handed but held on with one. Stunner.

Dan Mousley in now alongside Ethan Bamber with Warwickshire in the face of a 453-target. Forget that, survival is their only aim today.

Warwickshire 47-1, 17 overs

Jack White and George Hill are the ones into the action straight away for Yorkshire.

And away we go...

Jack White has got ball in hand and will bowl to Alex Davies.

All set to go here...

Just over 10 minutes from the start of play, and it’s a touch brighter now than it was when we first posted this morning.

Still plenty of cloud around.

Good morning...

From Scarborough, where it’s an overcast start to day four.

All set for an 11am start here, with Warwickshire 44-1 chasing 453.

Yorkshire have had much the better of this fixture on a slowish pitch but one which has shown signs of deterioration. There’s uneven bounce and spin.

Opener Alex Davies and nightwatchman Ethan Bamber will be at the crease this morning for the Bears, whose victory target is surely beyond them. They will be looking to save this match.

Should Yorkshire win it, it would be their third win of the season so far, and it would gain them the maximum 24 points.

You can read our match report and reaction piece from yesterday – the latter with George Hill – linked below. And the stream is embedded at the top of the page.

Enjoy the day, and fingers crossed for these nine wickets.
