Soft dismissal as Allison is foxed by a shorter ball and can only chip a simple catch to Wharton running around towards short mid-on.

Jack White will open the bowling this morning.

Good morning...

From a sunny Headingley.

We’re all set to start on time at 10.30am for day three, which will be another 104-over day.

Yorkshire enjoyed by far the better of things yesterday, Indian overseas spinner Kuldeep Yadav even describing it as “a perfect day”.

The White Rose advanced from 241-6 overnight to 390 all out before restricting Essex to 137-7 in reply. George Bell played nicely for Essex with 41 not out and will be key to their hopes of a revival this morning.

Dom Bess and Kuldeep contributed 80 not out and 36 respectively before taking three wickets apiece.

Essex still need 104 runs to avoid the follow-on. As I say, Bell is going to have to kick on for them to avoid that.

You can read more from Kuldeep in our reaction piece to day two, which is linked below.

The stream is embedded at the top of the page.

Enjoy the day!
