Close. Yorkshire 314-5, 86 overs

Yorkshire enjoy a very profitable day. In reply to Durham’s 346 all out, the White Rose are closing on on parity.

Jack White completed a five-wicket haul this morning before Mayank Agarwal’s superb 175.

Matthew Revis 28 and George Hill 23 will begin day three at the crease.

Yorkshire 300-5, 81 overs

Another point in the bag. That’s five bonus points. We need five more.

Matthew Revis 22 and George Hill 15.

Five overs remaining in the day.

Yorkshire 281-5, 74.4 overs

Mayank Agarwal caught Graham Clark bowled Shafiqullah Ghafari, 175.

Miscued catch to long-on, taken low down, ends a wonderful innings.

Yorkshire 65 behind, with George Hill joining Matthew Revis at the crease. He has 20.

Agarwal 150

Mayank Agarwal

Mayank Agarwal has just reached his 150 off 176 balls and followed it with a pulled six over long-leg off Matthew Potts.

Yorkshire 254-4 in the 70th over.

What an innings this has been.

Nottinghamshire county champions

Congratulations to Notts’, who have reached 300-6 in their first innings against Warwickshire (258) at Trent Bridge, gaining enough points to mean they can’t be caught by Surrey.

Yorkshire 234-4, 67 overs

Mayank Agarwal has 142 and Matthew Revis 10.

Yorkshire are 112 runs in arrears with 19 overs remaining in the day’s play.

Yorkshire 203-4, 57.1 overs

Jonny Bairstow caught behind Ollie Robinson bowled Ben Raine, 0.

Two early-evening wickets for Raine has given Durham some life.

Matthew Revis in now.

Yorkshire 199-3, 56 overs

James Wharton bowled Ben Raine, 7.

Early evening strike for Durham brings Jonny Bairstow to the crease alongside Mayank Agarwal, 117.

Yorkshire trail by 147.

Tea. Yorkshire 198-2, 54 overs

Superb session-and-a-half of batting for Yorkshire, who trail by 148.

Mayank Agarwal has reached tea at 116 not out.

HUNDRED!!! Agarwal

Home debut for Mayank Agarwal, and what an innings this has been.

He reached his fifty with a six earlier and had just got there with another.

122 balls, 11x4s and 4x6s.

Yorkshire are 186-2 now shortly before tea. James Wharton has 5.

Mayank Agarwal

Mayank Agarwal has just launched Shafiqullah Ghafari down the ground for two sixes in the over. He has 86, and Yorkshire are 164-2 in the 46th over.

Yorkshire 136-2, 40.5 overs

Adam Lyth caught Matthew Potts bowled Shafiqullah Ghafari, 69.

Caught at first slip via a deflection off wicketkeeper Ollie Robinson on the way through.

That ends a 127-stand with Mayank Agarwal, who remains on 61.

Fine knock from Lyth which has helped lay the platform for what will hopefully be a big score.

James Wharton in now.

Agarwal 50

Mayank Agarwal has just reached an 84-ball fifty with a six down the ground off Shafiqullah Ghafari. Excellent.

He has helped Yorkshire to 113-1 in the 35th over.

Meanwhile, elsewhere, Surrey are 38-2 in their second innings in reply to Hampshire’s 248 all out at the Utilita Bowl. Hampshire had a first-innings lead of 101.

Thankfully, as things stand, the progression of that game is proving more of a problem for Durham than Yorkshire.

Lyth 50

Adam Lyth has just reached his fifty, off 102 balls.

Super innings.

Yorkshire 102-1 in the 34th over.

Mayank Agarwal has 45.

Yorkshire 68-1, 23 overs

This is turning into a very profitable start for Yorkshire.

Adam Lyth 33 and Mayank Agarwal 30.

Lyth was dropped on 27 by Matthew Potts running back towards deep mid-wicket off Daniel Hogg not long ago. Would have been a brilliant catch.

Yorkshire 35-1, 18 overs

Early stages of the afternoon, and slow and steady wins the race for Yorkshire. That’s certainly what they hope, anyway.

Adam Lyth 22 and Mayank Agarwal 8.

Lunch. Yorkshire 28-1, 17 overs

The White Rose are replying to Durham’s 346 all out.

Adam Lyth 22, Mayank Agarwal 5.

Spin into the attack

Shafiqullah Ghafari is on to bowl some leg-spin as we approach lunch.

Action-packed morning so far, and Yorkshire have had the better of it at 24-1 in reply to 346.

Durham were 322-7 at the start of the day.

Yorkshire 9-1, 7 overs

Fin Bean lbw Ben Raine, 1.

Trapped lbw stuck on the crease.

Mayank Agarwal in now alongside Adam Lyth, who has 8.

Yorkshire 0-0, 3 overs

Adam Lyth and Fin Bean have played out three maidens from Ben Raine and Matthew Potts as Yorkshire reply to 346.

Durham 346 all out, 103.1 overs

Ben Raine caught George Hill bowled Jack White, 101.

Caught off a top-edge at third-man, and White finishes with a season’s best 5-69 – his best figures in a Yorkshire shirt.

Super morning for Yorkshire, who now must bat well.

Raine 100

Ben Raine has reached an excellent century, off 101 balls.

He has helped Durham to 345-9 in the 103rd over.

He is trying to take as much of the strike as he can from Afghanistan spinner Shafiqullah Ghafari.

Durham 332-9, 99.5 overs

Daniel Hogg bowled Jack White, 0.

Off-stump out of the ground on this occasion. Two wickets in the over.

Yorkshire have started the day superbly.

Durham 332-8, 99.1 overs

Matthew Potts bowled Jack White, 31.

Middle stump out of the ground. Beauty from White, bowled through the gate.

That ends an 87-run partnership with Ben Raine, who has 89.

All set to go

Play is just about to start, with Durham on 322-7.

Ben Raine has 87 not out and Matthew Potts 23.

Matt Milnes will get us going.

Good morning...

From a sunny Headingley ahead of day two, where Durham will resume on 322-7 when we get going at 10.30am.

Yesterday was a topsy-turvy day in which the visitors slipped to 7-2 but recovered well thanks to David Bedingham’s 93 and Ben Raine’s 87 not out.

Yorkshire bowled well in large parts, though let a couple of chances slip.

Hampshire’s strong start against Surrey at the Utilita Bowl – 154-3 in reply to 147 – has heightened the chances that the final relegation place will be taken up by either Durham or Yorkshire.

A draw will do Yorkshire, but Durham are looking like they’re going to have to win the game to survive.

Today will tell us a lot.

Yorkshire could do with wrapping this innings up pretty quickly. But their main task today is to bat well.

You can read our match report and reaction piece following day one, the latter with two-wicket new-ball seamer Jack White, via the embedded X posts above.

Enjoy the day.
