There is a definite green tinge to the pitch, and Nottinghamshire face an interesting conundrum here.

They desperately need a result, yet they also need batting points.

From a dry and sunny Trent Bridge, where we’re all set for a start on time at 10.30am for this season finale.

Yorkshire are aiming for win number six and their third on the spin, while Nottinghamshire are also aiming for win number six to give them any chance of retaining the title they won last September.

They are sat in third and are trying to bridge a 15-point gap to leaders Warwickshire, with Somerset sandwiched in between. The Bears host Leicestershire, Somerset host Surrey. It’s unlikely to say the least that they will be lifting the trophy come Sunday.

From a Yorkshire perspective, they are ending the season very well and would head into the winter with significant confidence if they can have a good week here.
