Middlesex have ended our winning streak, which we couldn’t extend to a fifth successive game.

It means they have reclaimed the lead at the top of Group B on net run-rate. They have 16 points, as do we in second and Durham in third.

Both Middlesex and Durham have played five to our six.

We next play against Derbyshire at Scarborough.

Dom Bess has played nicely for what looks like being a consolatory fifty, this off 66 balls.

In June 2024, Will Bennison captained St Peter’s School, York to victory over Millfield in the National Schools U18 Boys T20 Cricket Cup final at Lord’s.

Yorkshire are playing match number six of eight in the group stages of the Metro Bank One-Day Cup, and it’s against a Middlesex team who are also going well in Group B.

They have won three and lost one of four games and are second.

Yorkshire are top on 16 points with four wins from five and would all but seal a knockout berth with victory today.

We are aiming to make it five successive victories after an opening day defeat to Hampshire.

Wins at York on Wednesday and Friday came against Worcestershire and Durham, the other two teams in the chasing pack on 12 points alongside Middlesex.

Incidentally, Middlesex were beaten at Worcestershire on Friday.
