Glorious now
The sun is shining here at Chesterfield, and the players are out there warming up.
Good afternoon...
From Queen’s Park, Chesterfield.
It’s a bright day in the Derbyshire/Yorkshire border town, where there is some light rain at present.
It’s still a warmish afternoon, though nowhere near what it was here on Wednesday for our women’s game against The Blaze, for example.
Despite the light rain at present, we should be all good for a 2.30pm start. In fact, as I type, I think it’s stopped.
Yorkshire come into this game on top of the North Group but off a defeat against Hampshire at the Utilita Bowl on Friday evening. We have won four of seven games. Derbyshire, meanwhile, have won two from second and are second-bottom of the six teams. This is their first game back following the fortnight break for some Championship cricket.
Yorkshire may have lost their last eight Blast games at this venue, but the squad and coaches are not worried about that stat in the slightest.
You can read coach Anthony McGrath’s thoughts in his pre-match preview, which is linked below.
The White Rose are aiming for the season’s Blast double following that stunning, come-from-behind win at Headingley at the end of May.
The stream is be embedded at the top of the page.
Enjoy the day.
