Scorecard

11.59am – YORKSHIRE WIN!!! We claim a four-wicket win, our third in a row in the Championship, and take 21 points. Fabulous. We’ve moved to second in the table and could remain there by the end of the day. Our promotion bid continues against Middlesex at Headingley on Thursday.

Yorkshire win

11.40am – WICKET! Lyth caught behind down leg off Carson, 40. It’s 76-4, with 27 more needed. Luxton in now.

11.30am – WICKET! Moriarty trapped lbw by Carson, 17. Excellent contribution. We’re 69 for three, needing 34 more to win. Wharton in now.

11.25am – SIX! Lyth cuts Robinson over backward point, moving to 33 out of 59-2.

11.24am – We need 50 to win now – at 53-2 in the 17th over. Lyth has 27 and Moriarty 13.

11.15am – SIX! Lyth pulls Carson’s off-spin over mid-wicket, moving to 26 out of 48-2 in the 14th over. We need 55 more.

11.09am – Back-to-back boundaries for Lyth off Unadkat takes him to 18 out of 39-2 in the 13th over. 103 target.

11am – The players are on their way out to the middle. We’re 28-2 chasing 103. Lyth and Moriarty at the crease. Lyth to face Unadkat to get us going.

10.29am – Leicestershire’s Josh Hull has been called up to England’s Test squad as a replacement for Mark Wood, who has been ruled out of the remainder of the series against Sri Lanka following a thigh injury suffered in the first Test win at Emirates Old Trafford.

10.17am – Sussex will start the day -3 on the over-rate. As things stand, if that’s not rectified, they would be docked three points.

9.10am – Good morning from Scarborough, where the sun is beating down.

Yorkshire will resume on 28-2, needing 75 more to win. Adam Lyth and Dan Moriarty will resume at 11am, with the aim of securing a third straight Championship victory.

We could end the day inside the top two places in Division Two with four games remaining. Middlesex and Northamptonshire look to be heading towards a draw in their fixture at Merchant Taylors’ School.

Should we complete the job, it will be a 21-point haul.

This will have been a deserved success should things go smoothly between now and 1pm or so. Yorkshire have dominated the majority of the fixture against the Division Two leaders.
