“It was nice to finish the day well from the position we were in.
“If we can get close to their score and put them under pressure, it will be an interesting game.
“Jack Brooks got what he deserved, and all the other lads kept running in. Even when Matt Fisher went down, everyone stood up. It was great fight from the lads.
“Then it was nice for myself and Hoddy and Adam Lyth and Gary Ballance up top, who I thought played nicely.
“It’s been quite a good day for us to put a couple of good partnerships together.
“There’s still a ball in the pitch. So there’s no reason why we can’t have a chase on the last day if we bowl well second time around.
“Myself and Hoddy felt the best way to play on that pitch was to be aggressive, to fully commit to each shot. If you nick it, you nick it kind of thing.”

Tea Report
Sixth-wicket pair Tom Kohler-Cadmore and Andrew Hodd helped Yorkshire recover positively from 119-5 during the second afternoon against Somerset at Emerald Headingley, sharing an unbroken 76 through to tea.
Replying to a first-innings 399, Yorkshire lost three wickets for eight runs during the first half of the afternoon, two of them to Scottish seamer Josh Davey. But they have reached 195-5.
Davey had Adam Lyth superbly caught at second slip one-handed by Marcus Trescothick diving in front of first for 45 before having Jack Leaning caught and bowled as Yorkshire fell from 111-2.
Sandwiched in between, Gary Ballance (37) clipped Craig Overton to mid-wicket.
But then Kohler-Cadmore and Hodd positively batted the White Rose towards 200.
While Hodd played strongly on both sides of the wicket, Kohler-Cadmore launched Jack Leach over long-on for six in the left-arm spinner’s first over.
Kohler-Cadmore has 32 and Hodd 41.

Lunch Report
Yorkshire, replying to Somerset’s 399, have reached lunch on day two at Emerald Headingley on 56-2.
The White Rose wrapped up Somerset’s first innings inside eight overs of play starting as they advanced from 374-8.
Jack Brooks had Jamie Overton caught at third slip with the fifth ball of the day, finishing with figures of 5-116.
David Willey then had Jack Leach brilliantly caught one-handed at the second attempt by Lyth running back from second slip after a gloved short ball looped over his head.
Yorkshire lost Harry Brook 13 balls into their reply, bowled off his pad by Lewis Gregory as the score slipped to 5-1.
Lyth and Kane Williamson then shared 47 before the latter looped a catch to gully off a Craig Overton delivery which seemed to bounce a touch more than expected as the score fell to 52-2 in the 18th over.
Lyth will begin the afternoon on 20, with Gary Ballance for company on four.

Good morning from Emerald Headingley, where we are all set fair for day two under sunny skies.
Yorkshire are chasing the two wickets they require to wrap up the Somerset innings, hopefully below 400. They will begin on 374-8.
The general consensus from both camps last night was that Yorkshire missed an opportunity with the ball given the helpful conditions – swing, seam, some uneven bounce was James Hildreth’s assessment (he got 81).
The White Rose will begin the day with only three seamers following a recurrence of a toe injury suffered by Matthew Fisher yesterday. Fisher initially badly cut his toe on four-day Lions duty last month and did it again on day one here.
Mathew Pillans and Ben Coad have been warming up in the middle this morning, while Steve Patterson is bowling at a stump as I type.
It looks like we should see both Coad and Patterson back in action at some point over the next fortnight following injury.
