6.15pm – CLOSE: Lancashire finish on 222-5 from 86 overs. Lamb 76 and Balderson 42, replying to Yorkshire’s 337-5. Matthew Waite with two wickets today. An excellent workout.

5.58pm We have five overs remaining in the game here at Headingley. Lancashire 213-5. Lamb 73 and Balderson 35.

5.26pm Dom Leech has entered the attack for his first bowl in first-team action. Lancs 189-5, with Lamb having reached an 86-ball fifty.

4.50pm Just something to note. There’s three of us in the press box and noticed earlier that the ball wasn’t being sanitised every six overs, as it was yesterday. It has since been confirmed that no longer has to take place. Good news. Lancashire 163-5.

4.39pm Lancashire have moved to 148-5 after 62 overs. Lamb 26 and Balderson 17. The floodlights are now on.

Tea report Yorkshire have enjoyed a productive afternoon with the ball on the second and final day of their friendly with Lancashire at Emerald Headingley.

Lancashire, replying to 337-5, fell from 69-2 to 107-5 and reached tea at 117-5 from 53 overs.

Ben Coad, Matthew Waite and Jack Shutt all struck, with Waite’s figures now 2-29 from nine overs.

Rob Jones was the first afternoon wicket to fall as Waite struck for the second time, getting him caught behind for two to leave the visitors 69-3 in the 30th over.

Josh Bohannon was the second, lbw to Coad for 46 (89-4 in the 39th).

Off-spinner Shutt then capped off a very productive couple of hours for the White Rose as he claimed the prized scalp of Lancashire captain Dane Vilas (18), stumped down the leg-side by Jonny Tattersall. At that stage, the visitors were 107-5 after 47 overs.

Each of Yorkshire’s six-man attack – Coad, Matthew Fisher, Steve Patterson, Waite, Shutt and Harry Brook – have all bowled nicely today as they build up to next weekend’s start of the Bob Willis Trophy.

TEA: Lancashire 117-5 from 53 overs, Lamb 7 and Balderson 5. Afternoon wickets for Coad, Waite, who has two-for, and Shutt.

3.20pm Jack Shutt claims the prize wicket of Lancashire skipper Dane Vilas, stumped by Jonny Tattersall for 18. That has left the visitors 107-5. Vilas got in a bit of a tangle after advancing to Shutt, who saw him coming and fired it down the leg side. Anyway, Vilas was left on his back and clutching at his left leg.

2.40pm Bohannon gone! Coad returns to the attack and gets him lbw for 46 with his first ball back. Lancashire 89-4.

2.30pm As Lancashire move to 87-3 here at Emerald Headingley, Josh Bohannon on 44, it seems to have been a decent old day two for Stuart Broad at Old Trafford in the Test. A 45-ball 62 helped England to 369 all out earlier before he struck to get former Yorkshire overseas Kraigg Brathwaite. West Indies 26-1 in reply.

1.55pm Lancashire have added 10 runs in the first 15 minutes of the afternoon session, started by this morning’s wicket-takers Waite and Fisher. Bohannon has 28 and Jones 2. Both sides will be extremely happy so far with their workout. The intensity and quality has been excellent.

Lunch report Matthews Fisher and Waite claimed the two Lancashire wickets to fall during the second morning of the friendly at Emerald Headingley.

After Yorkshire posted 337-5 yesterday, Lancashire have batted for a session delayed by the best part of 20 minutes due to rain and reached 58-2 from 25 overs at lunch.

Fisher struck with his first ball in the second over to get Alex Davies caught behind for a golden duck, leaving the visitors at 0-1.

The Red Rose recovered through a 57-run stand between Keaton Jennings (37) and Josh Bohannon before the former fell to Waite on the stroke of lunch.

Playing back, he got a leading edge to Harry Brook at third slip in the 24th over.

Yorkshire have used five bowlers in Fisher, Ben Coad, captain Steve Patterson, Waite and off-spinner Jack Shutt, who bowled three overs at the end of the session.

Morning rain meant four overs were lost from the day’s allotted 90.

Bohannon and Rob Jones will begin the afternoon session for the visitors, unbeaten on 20 and nought respectively.

LUNCH Lancashire are 58-2 from 25 overs, the wickets going to Fisher and Waite. Bohannon 20 and Jones 0. The visitors are replying to 337-5.

12.54pm Waite gets Jennings caught at third slip by Brook for 37. Lancashire 57-2 in the 24th over.

12.16pm It has actually been a solid recovery after that early wicket from Lancashire, led by Keaton Jennings, who is 25. The visitors are 29-1 after 14 overs. Josh Bohannon has four. Patterson and Waite are bowling for Yorkshire under sunny skies. Fingers crossed, we’ve seen the last of the rain for today.

11.23am What a start! Fisher gets Davies caught behind for a golden duck, 0-1 after seven balls. Fisher’s very first ball of the summer.

11.19am Coad opening the bowling to Jennings. We have lost four overs from the day’s allotted 96.

11.05am Play has started in the third Test at Emirates Old Trafford, where England are 258-4, with Ollie Pope 91 not and Jos Buttler unbeaten on 56.

10.45am Unfortunately, it has started raining. The covers are being brought on to the field, although it isn’t too heavy at the moment. A group of Lancashire players continue to net in front of the West Stand, so hopefully we shouldn’t be too long before we get going.

Good morning from Emerald Headingley, where we await the start of the second and final day of our friendly against Lancashire.

Yorkshire totted up 337-5 from their 90 overs yesterday, the big winners being Adam Lyth with 108 not out, Tom Kohler-Cadmore with 70 and Matthew Waite with a late, unbeaten 43.

Lancashire enjoyed success with three wickets in the final session, but it was Yorkshire’s day.

The hosts will be in the field for the 90 overs today, and we are set fair for a start on time at 11am. Both sides are warming up, and the sun is peeping through the clouds.

Enjoy the day.
