11.56pm Some reaction from Steve Patterson

“I thought we did really well with the bat, and I was really pleased with the score we put on the board. We were confident coming out with the ball.

“We would have liked some early wickets, but it didn’t quite happen. Josh Poysden and Josh Shaw bowled beautifully through the middle and pulled it back, but we weren’t quite as good as we should have been with the ball, myself especially. It’s cost us.”

11.21pm Yorkshire have lost by six wickets as Sohail Akhtar hits century for Lahore. Phil Salt 37 not out. Two balls to spare.

11.11pm Sohail Akhtar has reached a 54-ball hundred, but he’s gone! Caught at mid-off as @timbresnan gets him. Game not done yet. 165-4, 20 needed with 14 balls left.

10.39pm Sohail given out following a boundary catch by Lyth at long-on off Poysden, but decision reversed and six given. Controversy. Yorkshire not happy. 99-2.

10.32pm Sohail reaches 50 off 29 balls. 93-2 after 10.

10.07pm Yorkshire under a bit of early pressure. Lahore 38-1 in the fifth. Irshad and Akhtar playing their shots.

9.56pm Nazir gone! He pulls Tim Bresnan to mid-wicket, 2. 12-1 in the second.

9.36pm A six apiece for Leaning and Bresnan off McClenaghan in the last over takes @YorkshireCCC to 184-5.

9.10pm Six overs to go and Yorkshire are 130-3. Ballance and Tattersall have shared 50, but that’s where the partnership ends. As I type, Tattersall is bowled by Raja for 26. 130-4 in the 15th.

8.51pm Yorkshire 93-3 after 10 overs and going nicely. After the early fireworks from Brook and Lyth, the more measured approach of Ballance and Tattersall is in operation.

8.44pm Lyth gone! He’s been trapped lbw reverse sweeping at leg-spinner Raja for 32. 80-3 in the 9th.

8.32pm Yorkshire 59-2 after seven overs, with Harry Brook caught at long-on off Afridi.

8.05pm K-Cadmore gone! He chips a back of a length ball from Babar to cover. 2-1 in the first.

7,57pm Yorkshire have lost the toss and will bat first.

7.50pm Right, down to Yorkshire matters.

Yorkshire’s team for tonight’s clash is as follows: Lyth, Kohler-Cadmore, Brook, Ballance, Leaning, Tattersall w, Bresnan, Thompson, Shaw, Patterson c, Poysden.

Lahore: Imran Nazir, Sohail Akhtar c, Bilal Irshad, Mohammad Faizan, Phil Salt w, Abdul Razzaq, Farhan Raja, Mitch McClenaghan, Shaheen Afridi, Ali Majid, Zulfiqar Babar.

7.32pm Boost win by 35 runs. Yorkshire v Lahore follows in 30 minutes.

7.21pm Three hours 20 minutes and counting this game has lasted, and Yorkshire will be on almost immediately. 8pm start. We have 1.5 overs remaining. Auckland 153-4.

7.13pm Game drifting now. Auckland are 137-4 in the 17th over pursuing 206. Kyle Abbott has taken two wickets added to one apiece for Jeevan Mendis and Colin Ingram.

6.12pm No wickets for Boost yet, but they’ve kept Auckland in check. 23-0 after four chasing 206.

5.40pm Boost finish with 205-5 and Ingram 84 not out off 47 balls. Superb knock measured to perfection.

5.17pm Colin Ingram playing a superb hand here to boost Boost. 59 off 37 and they are 150-5 after 15.3. If he stays there, they get 200, which I reckon is a long way above par.

4.35pm Auckland dragging things back. Boost 68-3 in the seventh, Ingram still there however.

4.09pm Auckland under early pressure, despite the wicket of Ramith Rambukwella, 24-1 after two. Ingram and Delport at the crease for Boost.

3.51pm Auckland have won the toss and will field in the first game. Boost have included seven overseas players in their team. Cameron Delport, Ramith Rambukwella, Colin Ingram, Ben Cox, Jeevan Mendis, Kyle Abbott and Ronsford Beaton.

3.24pm England have announced their women’s squad for the forthcoming World T20. Yorkshire trio Katherine Brunt, Danni Hazell and Lauren Winfield have all been included.

Andrew Gale talks Abu Dhabi T20

“You only have to look at the calibre of cricketers walking around the hotel (all six teams are staying in the same hotel), there’s some big names here,” said the coach.

“You want to test your skills against some of the best players in the world.

“Every game counts. If they have a good game here, they put their names in the hat for next season.

“You only need one or two performances to convince the captain or myself that they can do it at this level.

“There are definitely places up for grabs.”

Good afternoon (just morning in the UK) from Abu Dhabi’s Sheikh Zayed Stadium.

We are here for the Abu Dhabi T20 competition featuring Auckland Aces, Boost Defenders, Hobart Hurricanes, Lahore Qalandars, The Titans and Yorkshire.

Yorkshire play this evening at 8pm (5pm UK) against Lahore to start their Group A campaign.

Beforehand, however, it is Auckland against Boost from Afghanistan in Group B. That starts in just over an hour and will feature the likes of Colin Ingram, Kyle Abbott and Ben Cox. A fledgling Auckland side will be captained by Craig Cachopa, formerly of Sussex.
