12.21pm – This is the only game across the country which hasn’t had a wicket. 66-0 in the 22nd over.

11.36am – Yorkshire 29-0 in the 10th over. Lyth has 17 of them.

11.19am – Lyth square drives the first boundary off Singh Dale, on the up beyond a diving backward point. We’re 12-0 in the fifth. Make that 16-0, as a second boundary follows through the covers. Much more authority about that shot.

11.14am – On initial viewing, there doesn’t seem to be quite as much pace in the pitch as usual. Spongy bounce. Interesting to see if that view is strengthened as the day goes on. Yorkshire 6-0 in the fourth over.

11am – We’re up and running here at Scarborough. Lyth and Bean opening. Lyth facing Singh Dale.

10.40am – Yorkshire: Lyth, Bean, Luxton, Wharton, Hill, Tattersall c&w, Revis, Thompson, Bess, McKerr, Fernando.

10.32am – Gloucestershire have won the toss and will bowl first.

10.28am – Jonny Tattersall will captain Yorkshire this week. He’s out there for the toss with Glos captain Graeme van Buuren.

10.10am – It remains hazy here at Scarborough as the players continue to warm up. Ben Coad has been bowling in the middle already, and he is targeting Chesterfield next weekend.

9.10am – Good morning from North Marine Road, where it’s not quite glorious sunshine but hazy. It’s warm, for sure, and there’s no concerns about a delayed start. 11am it is.

After a mixed start to the Vitality Blast, four wins and four defeats, Ottis Gibson and co return to Championship action looking for their first win. Gloucestershire have already achieved that, but a win this week for Yorkshire would see them leapfrog the Bristol side into mid-table.

Yorkshire have some availability issues. Shan Masood is unavailable due to concussion. We’re expecting Jonny Tattersall to captain in his place. Ben Coad is not fit to return from his back injury. Conor McKerr, though, has extended his loan from Surrey into red ball cricket. Vishwa Fernando plays his penultimate match of a three-game overseas stint.

Our last Championship match, in May, saw us draw against Northamptonshire at Wantage Road when the hosts held on eight wickets down on the final evening.
