5.42pm – The Diamonds have won a remarkable game of cricket by one run, bowling Sparks out for 215 off last ball after they were 201-5 after 46.3. Incredible.

5.39pm – HUNDRED! Fabulous. Bean gets there, for the first time this season, off 111 balls with 17x4s. It’s 232-2 in the 40th.

5.22pm – Sparks are 201-6 in the 47th over chasing 217. They need 16 off 20 to beat the Diamonds at Edgbaston.

Here, at Headingley, Yorkshire are 219-2 in the 36th over. Scores level. Bean 95 and Root 61.

5.06pm – Root reaches his fifty off 44 balls. Super stuff. Yorkshire 191-2 in the 32nd. Bean 78, and the partnership is 97.

4.40pm – Sparks are 157-5 in the 36th over chasing 217 against the Diamonds. Two wickets for Levick in quick succession.

4.39pm – SIX! Bean has just hoisted Crane over long-on for a second time, and he now has 64 out of 153-2 in the 25th.

4.28pm – Bean reaches his fifty off 62 balls with 8x4s and 1x6s. 130-2 after 39 overs – 24 runs in the first two overs of the evening.

4.22pm – We’re up and running after tea. Yorkshire 106-2 in reply to 221. Crane to Root on 6. Bean has 41.

Sparks 132-3 in the 31st chasing 217 against the Diamonds. A run out and a Sophia Turner wicket the most recent strikes.

4pm – Tea. Yorkshire have reached 106-2 from 20 overs, replying to 221. Bean 41 and Root 6. Excellent afternoon for the hosts – the best session of the match so far.

3.55pm – WICKET! Masood caught at short-leg off Crane, 34. It’s 94-2 in the 19th over. Root in now to join Bean, who has 39.

3.48pm – Double spin for Glamorgan – Carlson and Crane. Bean has just taken two boundaries off the latter to move to 38 out of 85-1 after 17. We trail by 136.

3.40pm – This has turned into an excellent start. Yorkshire 73-1 after 15 overs. Bean 27, Masood 25.

But the Diamonds need a wicket at Edgbaston. Sparks are 77-1 after 20 chasing 217.

3.20pm – We’ve moved to 36-1 in the 11th over – Bean 10, Masood 6 – as we reply to 221.

3.14pm – Dan Moriarty and Dom Bess leave the field after taking four wickets apiece today.

3.09pm – WICKET! Lyth lbw Hamza, 20. It’s 26-1 in the ninth over.

2.56pm – Back-to-back boundaries for Lyth off Pakistani left-arm quick Hamza breaks the shackles. 12-0 after five overs.

Sparks are 28-1 chasing 217 to beat Diamonds at Edgbaston.

2.24pm – Yorkshire have started their reply to 221 – 61 overs to be bowled in the day. We’re 4-0 in the second.

2.28pm – WICKET! Hamza caught behind by Tattersall off a top-edged slog sweep at Moriarty. Glamorgan 221 all out, and Moriarty and Bess have finished with four wickets apiece. Super stuff.

2.21pm – WICKET! McIlroy caught on the pull by sub fielder Hill at backward square off Bess. 220-9 in the 78th over. Fourth for Bess. Excellent.

2.06pm – WICKET! Bevan caught at short-leg on the reverse sweep against Bess, 22. Looped up to Bean. 208-8 in the 74th.

2.01pm – WICKET! Moriarty gets Harris caught at short-leg by Bean, 16. It’s 208-7 in the 73rd. Third wicket for Moriarty.

1.58pm – Ah, Coad at square-leg can’t cling on as Bevan, on 19, pulls at Bess. 204-6.

1.51pm – We’re up and running after lunch at Headingley, Glamorgan 194-6, and the Diamonds have been bowled out for 216 at Edgbaston by the Sparks.

1.30pm – The Diamonds are 186-8 in the 45th over at Edgbaston. Burns out for 49.

1.10pm – Lunch. Yorkshire strike twice in the morning through Moriarty and then Bess. Glamorgan have reached 194-6 from 69. Bevan 18 and Harris 6.

Diamonds, meanwhile, are 164-6 in the 39th over. Burns 44 not out.

1.03pm – Both spinners have switched ends now. Moriarty returns from the Kirkstall Lane End, with Glamorgan 194-6 in the 67th.

12.59pm – Bess has switched ends to the Howard Stand. Glamorgan 189-6. Bevan 18, Harris 1.

12.42pm – WICKET! Ingram trapped lbw by Bess, who strikes with his second ball of the day. Gone for 48. 182-6 now. Excellent.

12.29pm – Diamonds are 110-4 in the 27th over at Edgbaston. Burns 19 and Dobson yet to score. Here, at Headingley, Glamorgan are 172-5. Ingram 46.

12.16pm – WICKET! Cooke cuts a Moriarty short ball to Brook at cover, 24. Good catch going to his left. 162-5 in the 56th.

12.12pm – Revis is into the attack with Glamorgan at 162-4.

11.55am – Spin into the attack in the form of Moriarty (replacing Fisher). Glamorgan will be satisfied with their start, advancing to 146-4.

The Diamonds are 76-2 after 19 overs at Edgbaston. Armitage 15, Heath 4.

11.36am – Decent start to the morning from Yorkshire without reward. 128-4.

11.22am – Lyth tips one over the bar at second slip, off an Ingram edge against Fisher on 7. 117-4 now.

11.12am – We’re all set for the start of play here at Headingley. Glamorgan will resume on 109-4. Ingram to face Fisher under the lights.

11.03am – There has been a bit of rain around, but we are due to start at 11.12am. 101 overs to be bowled in the day.

The Diamonds are 26-0 in the eighth over at Edgbaston. Winfield-Hill has 22.

10.13am – The light is pretty gloomy here at Headingley. Suspect we’ll be starting under floodlights.

8.35am – Good morning from Headingley, where it is an overcast start to day two. 

The main thing is it’s dry, and we look likely to start on time at 11am.

Yorkshire came out of half a day’s play pretty well yesterday, striking twice in the mini evening session of half an hour or so, leaving Glamorgan on 109-4 at close.

A run out was supplemented by wickets for Coad, Moriarty and then Bess. Billy Root scored 51 for the visitors. 

There’s clearly been a bit of overnight rain knocking about, so a quick burst with the seamers before getting stuck in with the spinners may well be the order of the morning. 

We will have 104 overs scheduled in the day for the next two days in order to make up some of the 55 we lost yesterday.

It’s a busy day of action in Yorkshire Cricket circles today, with the Northern Diamonds back in Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy action against the Central Sparks at Edgbaston (10.30am).

The Diamonds have won two, lost two so far.
