“It’s frustrating when rain plays a part in the game. With 10 overs to go, only two wickets down, we felt we were in a really strong position. We were looking to get somewhere around 400, which was definitely a winning score out there.
“Then the rain came. 225 off 22 overs, it is what it is. Whether you agree with it or not, that’s the target.
“Still, with the players we’ve got, we should have been capable of defending that score. On this occasion, we weren’t good enough to do it.
“100 percent, it’s a point lost. Absolutely. In the field we were poor and dropped a number of half chances. Our lack of awareness stopped us taking other chances we probably should have done.
“Had we taken some of those, we’d have killed the game very early.
“Also, with the quality of bowlers we’ve got, I think we can bowl better than that. It’s very frustrating to play half the game at such a high level in terms of the batting – it’s some of the best we’ve seen all year – and then to be so below par in the field and with the ball.”

Mid innings
Tom Kohler-Cadmore, Adam Lyth, Harry Brook and David Willey all posted half-centuries in Yorkshire’s 308-2 from 40 overs at the halfway stage of their Royal London one-day Cup clash with Derbyshire at Emerald Headingley.
Rain meant Yorkshire’s innings was cut short after they elected to bat, and it would have been some relief to Derbyshire, who were under the cosh.
Openers Kohler-Cadmore and Lyth excelled on a flat pitch, hitting 79 and 78 respectively as they shared 157 inside 24 overs before both fell in the space of three overs to Ravi Rampaul and Matt Critchley.
Third-wicket pair Willey and Brook then really put their foot down as they closed in a Yorkshire’s record total in List A cricket, 411-6 against Devon in 2004.
They shared 141 unbroken inside 14 overs, with Willey 72 and Brook 59 when the rain arrived.
They scored 113 in the eight overs prior to the rain, with Willey hitting three of six sixes in the innings so far.
