“We feel we’ve played some really good stuff this year. We won five games and played some good cricket. Obviously it’s very disappointing to have lost our last two completed games, especially in the fashion we did.
“It puts a bit of a downer on things.
“We came here wanting a response as a team, and the way we went about it with the bat on day one was exceptional.
“For Tom Kohler-Cadmore to move to the top of the order for the first time (this season) and finish 160 not out, what an achievement that is.
“We were in a really strong position in the game. But, unfortunately, like pretty much everywhere else in the country, the rain has dictated the course of the game.
“The goal and hope was that there was enough time left to set up a game today. The way the game’s gone so far, it would have led easily to do that. There might have been a couple of declarations and they chase a score after we got a few more runs. But once we knew we couldn’t start until 3 or 4 o’clock, it took too much time out of the day to enable that to happen.”
12.52pm The match has been abandoned in a draw, unfortunately. Yorkshire finish fifth in the Division One table.
Lunch Yorkshire’s hopes of finishing third in this season’s Specsavers County Championship remain alive as they and Warwickshire try to decide on a fourth afternoon run chase at Edgbaston.
There has been no play possible due to rain and a wet outfield since tea on Monday’s first day, with a fourth day lunch taking place at 12pm.
Both sides are open to a contrived finish in this game, the final one of 2019.
Yorkshire are 261-2 in their first innings, so a Warwickshire run chase is possible with the forfeiture of the Bears’ first innings and Yorkshire’s second.
The fixture between Hampshire and Kent at Canterbury has been abandoned in a draw, leaving Yorkshire 18 points behind third-placed Hampshire.
Should the White Rose win here, they would gain 18 points and finish above Hampshire on most wins – six to five.
11.41am The umpires are inspecting as we speak. It seems like both sides are keen to play and organise a run chase this afternoon.
10.05am A bit of winter news……Harry Brook is planning to go to Cape Town and the Gary Kirsten Academy after Christmas
“I will be staying over here until Christmas,” he said. “I’m hoping to go to Cape Town for a couple of months after Christmas.
“I have read some really good reviews of the Gary Kirsten Academy. He is a very experienced man. He played at the highest level. I want to try to pick his brains.
“It will be good to live in a different culture too. Good to see how they live.
“It’s always good to get a feel and go to other places. Playing cricket and playing on different pitches.”
Kent and Hampshire has been abandoned in a draw, leaving

9.36am We have news from Edgbaston. There will be no play before lunch, which will be taken at 12pm.
Elsewhere, Durham v Glamorgan has been abandoned, which means Glamorgan can’t overtake Gloucestershire and Northamptonshire in second and third in Division Two. Those two counties are promoted.
Good morning from Edgbaston for the final day of the summer.
The ground staff are beavering away after two washed out days have left the outfield quite boggy.
There are two super soppers working to mop up the water.
The good news is that the sun is shining and there isn’t a cover in sight.
Fingers crossed we get up and running at 10.30am for day four, when Yorkshire will resume on 261-2 in their first innings.
