“It’s been the story of our last few weeks really.
“I don’t think we’ll set anything up. The forecast is a bit mixed anyway.
“If we were to look at that, given the fact that we’d be sacrificing any potential batting points, it would have to be in our favour to make it considerable. But at this stage, no, it’s not been discussed.
“I think it’s the kind of surface that if you play a full four days, it would be a really good game of cricket. Again, we’ve been robbed by the weather, like we were for the two weeks at Headingley.
“All you can do is play your best cricket and hope the weather improves.”

There is play at four grounds around the country, including Taunton for the World Cup clash between Australia and Pakistan, where Pakistan are 56-1 in the eleventh over chasing 308.
They are playing at three Division One venues, Grace Road, New Road and Swansea.
Division One
Welbeck (day 4): Nottinghamshire 162 v Hampshire 93-2. MATCH DRAWN
No play on the final day meant the last three days were washed out. Hampshire take eight points and stay second and Notts five ahead of a crucial match at the bottom of the table against Kent at Tunbridge Wells next week.
Canterbury (day 3): Kent 139 & 24-2 v Somerset 169
No play was possible on the third day because of rain.
Guildford (day 3): Surrey 313 v Yorkshire 58 for 1
Surrey were bowled out 20 minutes into day three after securing their third batting point. Yorkshire skipper Steve Patterson finished with 5 for 81. Yorkshire openers Adam Lyth and Will Fraine put on 51 before Lyth fell for 30. Rain arrived at lunch and there has been no play since.
Division Two
Chester-le-Street (day 3): Durham 253 v Northamptonshire 254 for 6
No play today due to rain
Leicester (day 3): Leicestershire v Middlesex
Play finally underway at 3.10pm at Grace Road after the first two days were washed out.
New Road (day 3): Worcestershire 98 v Lancashire 40 for 3
Play finally got underway again at 2.10pm with leaders Lancashire soon in trouble on 40 for 3. Wayne Parnell has taken two of the wickets to fall.
Arundel: Sussex v Gloucestershire (day 2)
Makeshift opener Will Beer agonisingly missed out on his maiden first-class hundred when he was dismissed for 97 after 7 hours 41 minutes at the crease. Sussex were 351 for 8 when rain arrived at lunch but play is due to get underway again at 4pm.
Swansea: Glamorgan v Derbyshire (day 2)
Batting at no.9, Glamorgan all-rounder Graham Wagg made a 102-ball century before they were bowled out for 394. Derbyshire are 13 for 0 in reply.?
2.24pm Meanwhile, back at HQ, Tim Bresnan has been speaking about his return to fitness following a calf injury. He is back in training with the Yorkshire second-team and Academy players.
“It’s pretty good at the moment.
“I’m ticking all the boxes and doing everything which has been put in front of me with not too much of an issue. Hopefully that continues and I can get back to playing as soon as possible.
“I’m back into cricket now. I’ve been on my feet for a little while and am getting back up to fullish speed – whatever that is these days!
“I feel in pretty good nick.
“It should be around another three weeks, but it’s difficult because in the timeframe that we’ve got there’s no real second-team or Academy cricket to get some overs in.
“It’s going to have to be in the nets and stuff like that, but it’s a bit of risk going straight into a first-class game having just bowled in the nets.
“The protocol is to prove your fitness in the seconds before you get pushed into the first-class stuff.”
2.09pm It is still raining at Guildford, and quite heavily too. Fingers crossed we see some more cricket later on this afternoon.

Lunch Steve Patterson completed his eighth haul of five wickets or more in first-class cricket this morning as Surrey were bowled out for 313 at the start of day three at Guildford.
Ben Coad and the skipper both struck as the hosts advanced from 290-8 overnight. Yorkshire, in reply, then reached lunch at 58-1 from 22 overs, with bad light bringing the morning to a close 10 minutes early.
Coad struck with the day’s fourth ball to get Morne Morkel caught at second slip by Adam Lyth, who was later the White Rose wicket to fall for 30, before Patterson had Jordan Clark caught at mid-on by sub fielder Matthew Fisher, finishing with 5-81.
Fisher was on the field in place of Duanne Olivier, who sustained a hip injury yesterday and will not bowl again in the game. He will have a scan upon his return to Leeds later this week and must be a doubt for next week’s game with Warwickshire at York.
Lyth and Will Fraine, 17 not out, then shared 51 for Yorkshire’s first wicket, with the former looking particularly strong on the drive through the covers.
Unfortunately, however, he was victim of a one-handed reflex catch at gully from Will Jacks, low down to his right off Rikki Clarke. The fielder even looked surprised that he caught it.
Gary Ballance will begin the afternoon unbeaten on six.

11.48am Injury update. Duanne Olivier will have a scan on a hip injury, sustained yesterday, upon his return to Yorkshire after this game. He won’t bowl again in the game.
11.24am Clark gone! Surrey are all out for 313. Patterson gets him caught at mid-on for 26, skied catch, by Fisher, on as sub for Olivier. Patterson finishes with an excellent 5-81.
11.12am Surrey are nine down, but they could have been all out. Clark was dropped on 9 by Tattersall off Patterson an over or so ago. Surrey now 299-9. Duanne Olivier is not on the field this morning. He is nursing an injury around his groin/hip. Matthew Fisher is on the field in his place.

Good morning from Guildford.
It is an overcast start to day three at Woodbridge Road, but it is dry and the players are about to start their warm-ups.
What could have been a disappointing day for Yorkshire yesterday turned out to be a decent one, thanks in the main to three wickets in an over for captain Steve Patterson, all bowled.
Surrey – 290-8 at close – were going along nicely at 265-4 after 85 overs, only to be 265-7 after 86 as Patterson, moving the new ball back into the right-handers, bowled Ben Foakes (62), Will Jacks (0) and Jamie Smith (56).
Patto finished with four wickets, while there were two for impressive debutant Jordan Thompson, who removed former Test players Mark Stoneman and Scott Borthwick either side of lunch.
We are set for an 11am start to day three. Enjoy the day.
