Lunch Report Yorkshire have lost eight morning wickets to slip into deep trouble at the start of day two against Nottinghamshire at Trent Bridge, reaching lunch on 63-8 in their first innings.

Jordan Thompson wrapped up the Notts first innings for 296 during the second over of the day, severely damaging the hosts’ chances of winning the LV= Insurance County Championship title.

He trapped Joey Evison lbw for 58. With Notts failing to claim a third batting bonus point, it means they cannot win the title unless Lancashire and Hampshire draw at Liverpool.

Unfortunately, Notts were able to put that disappointment behind them as seamers Luke Fletcher and Evison claimed three wickets apiece

Thompson has been their top-scorer so far with 16 in 23.4 overs.

Dom Bess is unbeaten on 10. Yorkshire must reach 147 to avoid having to follow-on.

12.34pm LUNCH. Duke is bowled by Paterson to bring the morning to a close. 63-8.

Sparks, meanwhile, are 114-7 in the 37th over at Scarborough.

10.37am WICKET Action packed start to the day. Notts are 296 all out. Thompson has trapped Evison lbw. That point evades Notts, who can’t win the Championship if there’s a positive result at Liverpool.

At Scarborough, Slater has Perrin caught at square-leg by Campbell. Sparks are 2-2 in the second over.

10.29am Underway at Trent Bridge. Notts 296-9. They need to get to 300 for a third batting point to realistically keep their title hopes alive. Early boundary for Paterson off Coad.

10.05am Central Sparks have won the toss at Scarborough and will bat first.

Central Sparks: Jones c, Kelly, Perrin, Davies, Brookes, Wong, Fackrell, Hill w, Arlott, Boycott, Davis.

Good morning.

It is day two of our Championship fixture against Nottinghamshire at Trent Bridge, which will resume this morning with the hosts on 292-9 and chasing a batting point which is going to be absolutely crucial to their hopes of winning the title.

If they don’t reach 300 this morning, it means a win for either Lancashire or Hampshire at Liverpool would eliminate them from the race.

Ben Coad claimed three wickets yesterday, while Matthew Revis claimed the first two of his first-class career.

A quick apology to the latter. Amidst the late drama of a few wickets falling and reports to file last night, his maiden wicket of Brett Hutton was attributed to Coad on the Twitter feed.

Harry Duke claimed six catches behind the stumps yesterday, the Yorkshire record being seven held by David Bairstow.

There is also a very important game taking place at Scarborough today, with the Northern Diamonds facing Central Sparks in the semi-final eliminator of the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy.

We will keep you up to date with both games. 10.30am starts at both venues.

We will have a stream available at both venues. Enjoy the day.
