9.10am – Good morning from the Uptonsteel County Ground, Grace Road, where we have been met with overcast conditions ahead of our 12th round Championship match.
Yorkshire head into this fixture just a point behind second-placed Middlesex with three to play in the race for promotion.
First thought upon arriving at the ground this morning, ‘That pitch is green’.
Mind you, it wasn’t unexpected. Leicestershire have to win this game to keep alive their hopes of promotion. They’re fourth in Division Two and 18 points behind Yorkshire. So if they win here and Middlesex lose at home to Gloucestershire at Lord’s, they’re right back in the promotion race.
Yorkshire come here without captain Shan Masood, who is unavailable following Pakistan’s Test series with Bangladesh. Jonny Tattersall continues in the role. Jonny Bairstow, is however, available to play his third match in a row.
Yorkshire have won three and drawn one of their last four matches, so come here in excellent form. Leicestershire drew their last match at Glamorgan last Sunday.

As ever, there will be a live stream available. We will advise how to access it shortly before the start of the game.
