The Yorkshire dressing room will have a family feel about it this summer. Why? Just ask the Kohler-Cadmores.
Exciting batsman Tom swapped Worcestershire for Emerald Headingley midway through the most recent summer, and now his father Mick has done the same ahead of 2018.
Mick, who has long since been based in Hornsea near Hull, has taken up the role of the county’s new dressing room attendant in place of retired John Reynard.
And Tom is happy with his old man’s move from New Road.
“He’ll love that job,” said the 23-year-old.
“He was in the same job down at Worcester with me for the last two years I was there, and it made my life easier really.
“We get on really well, and he loves being around.
“He never bothers me cricket wise if I don’t want it. He knows when and when not to talk about the game, but it helps that he’s there if I feel I need to get away from the game at all.
“He’s already spoken to me about being in goal for our football games on training days and things like that!”

Tom, like the rest of his Yorkshire team-mates, is preparing for an exciting 2018 campaign.
He was an ever-present in the Vikings T20 team last summer, missing only the clash with Worcestershire as per the terms of his move, and he scored 286 runs from eleven innings with a best of 75 against Leicestershire at Grace Road.
But he only played three County Championship matches and finished the season out of the side despite scoring 78 in the second innings of the draw against Surrey at the Oval.
No doubt a disappointment, but it at least gave him a reminder that breaking into, and staying in, Yorkshire’s team is no easy task.
“I knew when I came to Yorkshire that it was going to be a tough team to get in, and that proved it,” he added.
“I scored a 70-odd or 80, and it wasn’t enough. If I’d have scored 150, it may have been different.
“It was a really good sign for the squad because me getting left out showed the lads were in form, although it was frustrating for myself.
“That’s why I came here, to really challenge myself.
“If I’m getting in, and staying in, this team, it means I’m doing something right. That’s what I hope to do this summer.”
