The Yorkshire County Cricket Club Limited is announcing the departure of Men’s First Team Assistant Coach Kabir Ali and Men’s Second Team Assistant Coach James Lowe.
After almost three years, Ali leaves with the Club’s best wishes as he embarks on the next chapter of his career. During his tenure, the former-fast bowler has mentored and developed a squad of exciting and promising young bowlers, securing promotion at the end of 2024.
Ali said: “I’ve really enjoyed my time with Yorkshire and would like to thank all of the players, coaches, staff and fans that have supported me throughout my time here.
“Having had a very successful end to the 2024 season culminating in a return to Division One, I’d like to wish everyone at Yorkshire all the best for the future.”
Lowe departs after more than two and a half years with the Club in both his current role and previously as Academy Coach.
Lowe said: “I’d like to thank everyone at the Club for the support over the last couple of years.
“It’s been great to play my part in the development of many of our younger players and I’ve really enjoyed the experiences I have had at Yorkshire. We have been blessed with a talented group of young players who have worked very hard, and it’s been great to see many of them start to get the rewards for their efforts.
“I look forward to seeing how many of those players progress in the coming years, and wish the Club the best of luck moving forward.”
Gavin Hamilton, General Manager of Cricket, said: “I’d like to take this opportunity to thanks both Kabir and James for their efforts during their time with the Club.
“Kabir has played a significant part in developing our bowlers in the last few years and has contributed towards our return to Division One of the County Championship, amongst other positive impacts.
“James has played a big part in the development of some of our younger players, and should be very proud to have seen a number of them break into the first team and showcase their talents at that level in the last few years.
“Everyone at the Club would like to wish both Kabir and James all the best for the future.”
The process for recruitment of a Men’s First Team Assistant Coach to join new Head Coach, Anthony McGrath and Assistant Coach, John Sadler will now get under way with an announcement to be made in due course.
