Yorkshire batsman Joe Root, England’s Test captain, has signed a new contract with the county to remain at Emerald Headingley until 2022.

The Sheffield star is one of the world’s best batsmen at present and will hope to be able to add more silverware to the two County Championship titles he helped win in 2014 and 2015.
