England’s captain Joe Root equalled a world record during the Test Match at Emerald Headingley in August by scoring yet another half-century, his twelfth consecutive Test match to achieve that feat.
He joined AB De Villiers, who set the previous record with a score of 116 against Australia in February 2014. The South African shot-maker has frequently been considered as one of the best players in the world, and for Root to match such a feat shows the standard at which he is playing.
