Hobart Hurricanes are using the inaugural Abu Dhabi T20 to help ready some of their young up and comers for their forthcoming Big Bash campaign.
The Hurricanes, beaten finalists in BBL07 in February, have landed in the Middle East and are in Group A alongside Yorkshire and Lahore.
They face the Vikings in the second of two group games on Saturday morning, with Tim Bresnan set to come up against the team he represented as an overseas player in early 2015.
Hobart’s squad is minus a number of household names, instead looking to the future.
