Yorkshire’s D40 Pursuit side claimed an impressive, statement nine-wicket win chasing a 40-over target of 236 in Solihull today.
The White Rose’s second disability team have ended their North and Midlands group campaign with a perfect played six, won six record and are preparing for an August 16 semi-final against the winner of the South West group, currently led by Gloucestershire.
The final is then on August 30.
Despite Yorkshire’s excellent, dominant form, today’s win was a notable one given they had to contend with the unavailability of a number of their key batters.
But they were fired to victory by a trio of half-centuries from openers Daniyal Zaman and Lewis Daniels and captain Archie Atkins-Sloan.
Zaman and Daniels shared 138 before the former retired not out with 76 off 74 balls. Daniels was the only man dismissed, for 65 off 103.
Atkins-Sloan then helped finish the game off, with five balls to spare, thanks to 56 not out off 38 balls.
Earlier, Liam Savage struck three times with the ball for Yorkshire as they limited the Bears to 235-9, with Ollie Wills and Divyansh Badhan adding two wickets apiece.
Opener Noah Eyles (66) and Edward Buss (50) led the way with the bat for Warwickshire.
