England National Cricket Selectors have named the Yorkshire quartet of Joe Root, Jonny Bairstow, Liam Plunkett and Adil Rashid in a 16-strong squad for the five-match ODI series against Sri Lanka starting on October 10 in Dambulla.
Surrey-bound Liam Plunkett will miss the first three ODIs for his wedding. He will be available for the fourth and fifth ODIs.
Yorkshire all-rounder David Willey was not considered for selection due to a back injury which ruled him out of the final two weeks of the season.
Warwickshire seamer Olly Stone has been called-up to the squad for the first time as Plunkett’s replacement.
