Diamonds set to shine for England in 2024
Having triumphed in a three-match IT20 series against India in December, England will be confident coming into their 2024 Internationals. Before the visit of Pakistan, England will face New Zealand in a five-match IT20 series and a three-match ODI series.
Familiar faces will be hoping to line up at the Pakistan fixture at Headingley, as Diamonds’ captain Hollie Armitage and power-hitter Bess Heath have been named in the IT20 side to travel to New Zealand.
Diamonds’ captain Armitage, who has been playing in NZ over the winter with Central Hinds, helped her side to reach the final of the Super Smash T20, and posted the third highest run total in the competition. The Huddersfield-born all-rounder will potentially make her England T20 Debut, having been named in the squad for the first three games.
Heath, however, has been named in the squad for all five games, the latter two of which will feature players featuring in the Women’s Premier League (WPL), which concludes on March 17. As the WPL doesn’t allow mid-season replacements, players like Alice Capsey, Sophie Ecclestone, Nat Sciver-Brunt and Danielle Wyatt, will join up after the conclusion of the tournament.
With crucial IT20 experience under their belts, both are hopeful to be named in the squad for the Headingley fixture. Secure your seat now to support Hollie and Bess on their home turf.
England looking to continue excellent record against Pakistan
England recorded the highest ever Women’s T20 World Cup Total in the two sides’ last meeting, smashing 213-5 on the way to a 114-run victory in February 2023. While Pakistan will be hoping to exact revenge for the defeat, England will be looking to keep up their good record against Nida Dar’s side.

Heather Knight’s women have won fourteen of their fifteen internationals against Pakistan, but England’s opponents have posted some impressive results in limited overs cricket in the last year, having beaten New Zealand in a three-match IT20 series in December. Nida Dar will be hoping her squad can match the prowess of England, ranked Number 2 in the World T20 Rankings.
