Pace bowler Jack Brooks has tonight been named Members’ Player of the Year at the Club’s annual gala dinner.
Brooks, an integral part of Yorkshire’s twin Specsavers County Championship title successes in 2014 and 2015, took 60 wickets or more in a season three times in a row from the start of 2014, scooped the top award at a black-tie event in front 400 guests at the Centenary Pavilion, Elland Road.
Winning the toss Yorkshire elected to bat and 35 had been added before Owen Smith was caught at fine leg for 13: Harry Duke was caught behind for 10, Fin Bean brilliantly caught at backward point for 14 and Jawad Akhtar caught behind for nought – in the 18th over we were 104-4.
