There was no play possible on day two of Yorkshire’s pre-season friendly against Leeds/Bradford MCC Universities at Headingley today because of a wet outfield.

Play was abandoned just after midday by umpires Steve O’Shaughnessy and Naeem Ashraf, despite initial hope that a 1.40pm start – like yesterday’s first day – would be possible.

Yorkshire would have resumed on 294-5 in their first innings, but overnight rain caused the issues.

George Hill made an unbeaten 82 on day one alongside opener Fin Bean’s 62.

Day three is due to begin at 11am tomorrow, but further overnight rain could put paid to such plans.
