There will be very few people who could argue that Don Bradman is the greatest batsman ever to grace the game.

Even Sachin Tendulkar’s most ardent of fans must look at The Don’s Test average of 99.94 in wonder and admiration.

You have to scroll a long way down the list of highest career run-scorers to find the late Bradman’s 6,996, but his average is unrivalled.

And Headingley was central to his path towards world domination, not least in July 1930 when he smashed records aplenty with a breathtaking 334.
