Harry Brook admitted his delight at scoring his maiden one-day century as Yorkshire got their Royal London Cup campaign off to a winning start, in blistering fashion, against Leicestershire at Emerald Headingley.

The 20-year-old hit a superb 103 and was crucial to the Vikings’ recovery from 17-3 as they posted 379-7.

Gary Ballance also added a career best 156 and Jonny Tattersall a late and inventive 58.

Mat Pillans then claimed a maiden five-wicket haul on his Yorkshire one-day debut as the Foxes were bowled out for 166, signalling a 213-run defeat – their heaviest ever loss runs wise.
