Harry Brook’s sensational season has been recognised after scooping four end of season awards, including the coveted 2021 Members’ Player of the Year.

Batter Brook was recognised by his peers and awarded the 2021 Players’ Player of the Year. The 22-year-old has also walked away with the Young Player of the Year award and Fielder of the Year.

It has been a year to remember for Brook who received a staggering 62% of the members votes. Brook fired across the red ball and white ball competitions in 2021, scoring two centuries and five half centuries in First-Class cricket.

In the Vitality Blast, Brook scored 675 runs, averaging 69.42 over 13 matches. Away from Yorkshire, the batsman was formidable in the inaugural The Hundred competition, averaging 47.25 across the five matches.

The young gun was also recognised for his fielding, taking nine catches in the Vitality Blast and 17 in First-Class cricket.

It was also a breakthrough year for fellow batter Will Luxton who was awarded the Club’s Academy Player of the Year. Luxton scored 68 runs on his List A debut in the Royal London Cup against Northamptonshire Steelbacks in July at Scarborough. In total, the 18-year-old played seven matches in the competition, averaging 33 with a strike rate of 86.38.

For Yorkshire’s Academy, Luxton was equally as impressive, scoring 576 runs in 13 innings at an average of 48. The batter scored one century and six half centuries, earning a call-up to England’s Royal London U19s squad’s series against West Indies.

George Hill is the recipient of Howard Clayton Second XI Performance of the Season after his magnificent double-century against Gloucestershire in April. Hill posted 207 runs, containing 25 boundaries, to help Yorkshire to an innings and 81 run victory in Bristol. The 20-year-old’s knock helped Yorkshire to a total of 607, its highest ever Second XI Championship score.

Everyone at The Yorkshire County Cricket Club would like to congratulate the winners. The awards will be presented to the players at Emerald Headingley ahead of the 2022 season.
