Mark Arthur says 2019 will showcase Emerald Headingley’s return to being amongst the best grounds in world cricket.

The impressive new Emerald Stand is on course for completion on the eve of the one-day World Cup, which sees the venue host four matches, including England v Sri Lanka on June 21.

It has been brought more into focus with the release of the full summer schedule this week, including Yorkshire’s county fixtures, with chief executive Arthur saying: “2019 will be a very special year.

“The new stand is looking fabulous, absolutely magnificent.

“We are starting to put the seats in the middle tier in the next week or so.

“It’s all on course for completion in the middle of May.

“The Emerald Suites are going to be just awesome. Also, the changing face of the old pavilion, which provides a link between the old and the new.

“We’re back at the top table of international cricket grounds now.”
