Resuming at 11-2, trailing by 364, Yorkshire lost Imtiaz for 7 with the score at 25. This became 27-4 when Benjamin Birkhead was caught at second slip, also for 7. Tom Loten and the returning Matthew Waite added 61 before the latter was caught at first slip for 26. Jordan Thompson joined Loten and they took the score to 120 when, from the last ball before lunch, Thompson was caught at first slip for 10.

Lunch was taken with us 120-6, however shortly prior to this, Loten had reached his 50 from 79 balls including, nine fours. But four balls after lunch Loten departed without adding to his total and Yorkshire were 120-7 still trailing by 255.

James Wainman led the recovery, despite losing Josh Shaw to leave the White Rose 150-8, and he made 49 from 98 balls with eight fours being ably supported in a ninth wicket partnership of 59 by Ed Barnes. Barnes was the last man out for 38 from 80 balls as the home side reached 253. Karl Carver finished 23 not out from 37 balls and shared a tenth wicket stand of 44. The last three wickets added 133 to leave Yorkshire trailing by 122 runs.

Wainman continued his good day by having Lowen lbw to his first delivery (0-1). Ali and Swindells added 38 for the second wicket before Matthew Taylor struck with his first legal delivery to remove Ali for 12. Javid joined Swindells and the former had reached 46 from 63 balls when he was bowled by Carver to leave the visitors at 91-3, leading by 113.

In a tremendous end of the day, Yorkshire further reduced Leicestershire to 109-7 with further strikes from Barnes (2), Carver again and Azeem Rafiq.

With the weather set fine Leicestershire lead by 231 runs heading into the final day.
