Scorecard

On a blustery but warm day Yorkshire won the toss and elected to bat first – the strength of the breeze evident when bails were blown off several times.

Ben Birkhead and Tom Loten opened the innings and added 55 before Ben was caught at mid on for 32 from 47 balls including 7 fours. Tom was more circumspect and at lunch was unbeaten on 39 from 115 balls with 4 fours – George Hill was also not out on 21 from 46 balls. Lunch 104-1 from 34 overs.

The breeze turned into a wind and interrupted play more regularly. However Tom Loten proceeded to 44 when he was caught behind off Greenwell – he and George Hill had added 66 in 127 balls. Hill completed his half century from 95 balls with 9 fours and had advanced to 79 from 134 when he was lbw to Hussain.

Jack Leaning also reached his half century from 76 balls with 8 fours and was 56 not out at tea when the total had reached 249-3, Matthew Fisher the other not out batsman on 16. After tea Matthew progressed to 34 from 54 balls before he was the victim of the first delivery with the new ball, bowled by Gibson.

Jack Leaning continued on his way and reached his second century in the last two games from 181 balls with 12 fours. At the close he and Josh Shaw had added 99 from 144 balls leaving us 368-4 at the close.
