Yorkshire 2nd XI won the toss and elected to bat first.

Winning the toss Yorkshire decided to bat first. Will Fraine and Finlay Bean opened and added 34 before Finlay was caught behind for 11. This brought debutant, Arjun Ramkumar, to the crease and he impressed in making 37 from 47 balls with 7 fours before being caught at mid on.

Will Fraine reached his half century from 72 balls but was caught at mid wicket two balls later, Yorkshire 104-3. Jordan Thompson was joined by Matthew Fisher but the latter was caught at mid on for 9 and at lunch Yorkshire were 125-4 – Ben Birkhead 0 not out and Thompson unbeaten on 14 from 21.

Post lunch Jordan increased the scoring rate taking 19 from his next 11 balls but Ben became the third wicket to fall caught at mid on. Jordan reached his 50 from 44 balls with 9 fours but he fell soon after for a run a ball 53.

Ed Barnes made five, Harry Duke 19 as we were reduced to 207-8 after being 93-1. Jared Warner and Josh Shaw took us to tea at 248-8 but after adding two from the first ball post tea Josh was ct behind from the 2nd and we were 250-9. Josh Poysden joined Jared and when Jared was lbw we were dismissed for 282.

19 overs remained in the day – Matthew Fisher and Josh Shaw were unable to make a breakthrough but a double change proved fruitful. Jordan Thompson was wicketless but bowled 6 overs for 7 runs and it was skipper, Jared Warner who finished with 2-8 from 5 overs as Worcestershire closed on 38-2.
